DRAWING - The Process is a selection of drawings and moving image from the exhibition of the same name held at Kingston University January/February 2003, Loughborough University Gallery February/March 2003, UCE Birmingham Art Gallery March/April 2003, Hot Bath Gallery Bath November 2003, Clifford Fishwick
Gallery, Exeter January 2004, Chapel Gallery, St Helens, Merseyside February/March 2004.

Examples of all participants work - over 60 exhibitors - are included in this examination of the importance of drawing as a process. The aim of the conference, book, CDRom and associated events was to investigate and discuss the use of drawing in the design process as employed by practitioners across a broad range of disciplines, from concept and through development of the idea to the finished piece by the designer-artist .

A wide range of approaches, both practical and theoretical and their varied contexts within the field of drawing are re-examined and in many cases introduced as totally new. All contributors are practicing designer-artists and all are in empathy with the ethos of interdisciplinary thinking and investigation as part of their profession.
